Metal inert gas welding: a method of welding in which the filler metal wire supplies the electric current to maintain the arc, which is shielded from the access of air by an inert gas, usually argon.
Stick welding is a form of welding that uses electricity to melt a metal filler rod/electrode/stick (electrode is the proper term) that melts both the metal joint and electrode all at once to fuse two pieces of metal together and fill the joint with filler metal at the same time.

Employment of welders, cutters, solderers, and brazers is projected to grow 3 percent from 2018 to 2028. The nation’s aging infrastructure will require the expertise of welders, cutters, solderers, and brazers to help rebuild bridges, highways, and buildings. The median annual wage for welders, cutters, solderers, and brazers was $41,380 in May 2018.
Industry Certifications partners with Hendrickson in Lebanon Indiana and Brehob Corporation to support and place students who complete a welding AWS credential. The class has blueprint reading and a resume build in the curriculum. Students who also complete the class, get the OSHA safety certification. A life coach then helps place the student in job placement.
